Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is in search of a Compensation and Classification Senior Analyst to be responsible for managing the daily classification and compensation functions for the agency.
The position administers, maintains, and studies the effectiveness of existing total compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures. Serves as an advisor to management and assists management with the implementation of new plans that coincide with compensation trends and organizational objectives.
Duties:
• Administers, maintains, and studies the effectiveness of existing total compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures. Assists the management team with the implementation of new plans that coincide with compensation trends and organizational objectives.
• Develops and manages the implementation of the agency’s Salary Administration Plan (SAP), policies and processes.
• Assist managers with developing or updating job descriptions.
• Conducts job analyses to create a thorough understanding of all tasks and activities a job involves, using internal and external market data for benchmarking and application.
• Perform job evaluations, audits and classification reviews and recommendations.
• Researches and provides preliminary recommendations on compensation issues for further development.
• Maintains data accuracy, updates and reconciles system data.
• Provides consultation to hiring managers and leadership on compensation and classification requests.
• Coordinates special projects and provide research and analysis upon request.
• Conduct research related to state salaries, market salary data, development of appropriate pay scales, compensation trends, and legal compliance related to compensation administration.
• Develop recommendations for internal pay structure changes based on well documented analysis.
• Interprets and applies standards, policies, laws, rules, and regulations regarding compensation and classification.
This is an onsite position with telework options.

Minimum Qualifications
• Comprehensive experience with job evaluations, market research, compensation reviews, and/or benchmarking.
• Experience gathering, analyzing, and evaluating data, making sound recommendations based on findings, and presenting data findings in a professional and efficient manner
• Experience in job analysis, classification determinations, and FLSA determinations required.
• Experience with Excel, queries, data analytics and data extraction
• Experience communicating verbally and in writing with all levels of an organization.
• Advanced experience in interpreting, applying, and explaining program regulations, laws, and statutes at the state and federal levels.
Additional Considerations
• Working knowledge of state pay policy and practices, as well as federal regulations impacting pay and job classification.
• Experience with Oracle HCM and related HRIS database systems.
• CCP, SHRM, or HRCI professional certification.
