Classification and Compensation Supervisor - Prince William County Schools (Manassas, VA)

The compensation and classification supervisor is responsible for managing the compensation and classification function for the division. The compensation and classification supervisor plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to be responsive to our strategic goals and competitive practices. This position provides ongoing monitoring of our compensation program to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness and maintain the integrity of the program. This position is also responsible for ensuring through audits, legal reports and personal interactions that division compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with division policies and government laws and regulations.


Master’s degree in either human resource management, school administration or a related field is required. At least three to five years of administrative or supervisory experience in a school division is desirable. Knowledge of principles and practices of public-school administration, employee evaluation systems, compensation administration, fair labor laws, administrative methods and techniques, and current trends in human resource management. Knowledge of data information systems and ability to enter, manipulate and report data in a variety of formats. Graduate study in personnel management, professional certification in Human Resources (PHR, SPHR), and employment law is preferred.

SALARY: Grade 17: $86,677 - $161,392 per year (competitive benefits)
