Executive Compensation Manager - VCU Health System

VCU Health System's Human Resources is seeking a full time Executive Compensation Manager to be responsible for the oversight of all elements of executive compensation for the VCU Health System, ensuring alignment with the overall HR strategy. Responsible for developing recommendations to optimize the execution of executive compensation programs and processes. Leads the analysis, development and implementation of executive compensation across the Health System. Provides support and counsel to executive leadership related to executive compensation in addition to supporting the Director of Compensation with day to day compensation operations.

  • Manages, executes and monitors executive compensation programs. 
  • Designs, modify and leads compensation strategies and programs that align with business objectives and support business success. May also assist with leading the compensation team. 
  • Assist in preparation of materials for Board meetings, and assist with implementation of recommended actions by the Board as required. 
  • Assist in the design and modification of executive compensation programs, guidelines, processes, policies and procedures to include the development of recommendations focused on enabling the attraction, motivation and retention of key executive talent. Assist with the development of executive level job descriptions.  
  • Prepares competitive internal and external market analyses. Presents findings to Senior Leadership and prepares recommendations.
  • Ensures all plans and processes comply with applicable regulations and requirements, including reporting, required disclosures, and testing.
  • Ensures effective tools are in place to manage executive compensation.
  • Partners with HR Communications team to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to deliver the executive compensation message.
  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasts and calculations of expenditures for budgeting, reporting, and other analytics. 

Qualifications  

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or related field from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in HR/Compensation specialist and leadership roles to include a minimum of 5 years of executive compensation experience.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or related field from an accredited program. 
  • Health System and academic medical center experience. 
  • Human Resources compensation certification (e.g.  MCCP, CCP, DECP, PHR, or SHRM-CP).
